Prior to starting her own practice, she was the founding Executive Director of Loretta Theatre, a theater company made up of artists such as Ed Harris, Beth Henley, Holly Hunter, Amy Madigan, and James Gammon, among others.  In the mid-90’s she was the Executive Director of ARTS Inc., an arts service organization working with small and mid-sized arts organizations of all disciplines. She served as the Deputy Director of Development for Los Angeles’ Center Theater Group.  For three consecutive years she held contracts with the National Endowment for the Arts as both an assessor and consultant in their Challenge and Advancement Program.  Since 2002, Corbett has been an Adjunct Professor in the University of Southern California, School of Theatre teaching theater management and fundraising for the arts. She is a frequent grant panelist for the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, the LA County Arts Commission, and often speaks on issues impacting the arts.

Corbett has often played a critical role in the grantmaking process as well.  During her years with the National Endowment for the Arts she assessed hundreds of grant applications and served as panel advisor in the Challenge & Advancement program.  She also serves on local grant panels and provided less formal input to funders on matters related to grant-making.

She produces theater in Los Angeles with a focus on new work.  She is originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
